Dichotomy
  • BtVS watcher since: At the suggestion of a friend I watched a few S3 reruns and I was quite intrigued. I watched every episode from then on and even paid for badly taped copies of all the episodes from S1-3 so I could take in all the brilliance that is Buffy.
  • Hanging out at the ATPoBtVS Posting board since: Hanging out at ATPoBtVS/AtS Posting Board since: I discovered it shortly before The Body and began to lurk almost every day.
  • Origin of posting name: Origin of posting name: I was sollig, but wanted something that described my feelings about BtVS: No one else I know watches it, so I have my regular life and my Buffy life. Also dichotomies are often the catalyst for the most interesting character and plot developments on BtVS and AtS, methinks.
  • Age / species / day-job: 37 / human female / former magazine editor, current stay-at-home mom
  • Most memorable BtVS/AtS quote: So many good one-liners but I have to go with the oft-mentioned Spike speech from "In the Dark" and Angel's from "Passion." Also, many lines from songs in OMWF. Okay, so I pretty much can't decide.
  • Favorite philosopher: I acutally hated philosophy in college (although I did well), but you all have actually given me pause; I went out and bought a Joseph Campbell book recently.
  • TTMQ: 7
  • Strangest thread topic ever posted: I usually lurk, but my strangest response to a post ended up with me comparing Spike to an iced coffee beverage
  • Coolest thread topic ever posted: Too many to list, but most recently the comparison of Buffy to Beauty and the Beast
  • Why I love this board more than unlife itself: When you spend all day with two kids under 7, you need a little mental stimulation. And while many of the posters are infinitely more knowledgable about literature and philosophy than I, they never make me feel inferior when I delurk. An intelligent, mature, hospitable lot, one and all.
